not in the least. Every country should do what is in its best interest. The UN can't even act on its own resolutions, they have ceased being effective. In fact, they are worse than ineffective. They give the illusion of having a meaningful role which in turn gives a false sense of security with regard to world affairs. They are like a parent that threatens punishment to their child when they misbehave and then follows up by rewarding the child with ice cream when he misbehaves. It reinforces bad behavior rather than discourages it. Nothing arrogant about that, just common sense.
