It does make sense. It's actually a shame that the UN could not have been better at it's purpose. The "idea" is a good one but the implementation hasn't turned out to be much.

And I don't think that because of the disagreement with the U.S., but because they have shown there aren't any teeth to their resolutions. Which as you and others here have already pointed out, make it a useless organization.
