Were you a professional entertainer? Not me. I could entertain the kindlier members of my own family with my little Gibson LG1.

Once in a tavern in upstate New York my assistant and I met a musician who was a virtuoso on the 12 string and six string. He wrote out the words to Coal Tattoo on a placemat and gave it to me. I still have it in my guitar case and it's always been my favorite. I've forgotten that fellow's name, but he later joined up with the New Cristy Minstrels, which was one of my favorite groups.

Do you know classical guitar? I'm not a real fan of it, but a guitarist named Christopher Parkening lived for a time near the small town in Idaho where I worked (Kooskia -- pronounced kooskee). He had studied under Segovia. I have a couple of his books and a tape or two. Excellent guitarist. Chris got into trouble by shooting a moose during elk season. He faced the music and paid the fine.
