The top 2% own about 40% of the wealth and about half the stock. That's the 2% Bush has rewarded the most, especially with estate tax cuts but also dividend tax cuts and income tax cuts. They get a triple treat. This is a matter of fixing a problem which didn't exist. It will drain the Treasuiry and widen the gap between rich and middleclass in this country. Never a good idea for a good healthy economy. It will also reduce the incentive for the rich to give to charity. Bush's faith-based is a politically targeted smoke-screen to cover up the fact charities will take it on the chin with his tax cuts. And since the federal government is also cutting services for the poor and middleclass and Bush is dumping all the problems on the cash-strapped states, we have a cruel and unusual situation developing. The party of the rich, the GOP. If you're one of them I hope you're very rich and miserly, or else you don't gain and the country loses.
