-- S.Korea confirms North missile test, no details --

SEOUL, Feb 25 (Reuters) - South Korea's Defence Ministry said
on Tuesday it had confirmed that North Korea had fired a missile
into the Sea of Japan on Monday, but had no details of what kind
of rocket was involved or its range.
"A missile was fired into the East Sea yesterday," a defence
ministry official told Reuters just over an hour before South
Korean President Roh Moo-hyun was to be inaugurated.
Pyongyang rocked the region when it launched a long-range
ballistic missile over Japan in August, 1998.
