The phony energy crisis was fixed by Bush's Houston friends. Ken Lay and Enron, James Baker and Relioant, Dynegy, Williams, Duke, El Paso and the rest, all working in nice Texas-style collusion to rip us off and give Bush an issue at the same time. They had the energy card so they played it hard. Their Octgober Surprise, their sneaky ace in the hole. Cost us about 100 billion and helped throw the economy into recession. Might be forgiveable if they'd done better since on the economy, but they've hurt us even more. Everything they do is a drain on the Treasury into special interest pockets. Privatization and deregulation are other words for giveaways to campaign contributors. And trickle-down does not work in this kind of environment. We need trickle up, but Bushies wont stand helping the middleclass first. The rich and corporate cronies are in front of the line. In fact they're really the only ones allowed in line.
