Great post again. I remember studying the Nasser situation. The one thing the article missed is 9-11. I consider myself an Eisenhower Republican or Clinton Democrat--same thing, right?. Ike might have gone into Egypt in the wake of 9-11.

Look, the Arab world needs to change & they show no signs of breaking the cycle(hatred of US & militant Islam to support their dictatorships). Another analogy could be the Iranian hostage crisis. Perhaps if we had taken a hard line then instead of showing weakness, UBL would not have been so bold.

Still, it's a great point. whatever Ike would have done, it would have been handled 1000x better than the way the Christian coalition is handling this.
