st point - I remember that. But, why didn't we do the same in 1990 to prevent the first Iraqi invasion of Kuwait.

nd point - Were you there in 1975 when Indonesia first invaded East Timor with U.S. weapons and the approval of Henry Kissinger? I think you're refering to the more recent events in East Timor where they voted for independence.

rd point - No. But, why are we such hypocrites when it comes to China? China has a horrible human rights record. Their invasion of Tibet is just one of many in a long line of human rights abuses that the U.S. did nothing in protest to. And we go on and on about Cuba? China is far worse than Cuba when it comes to freedom and human rights, yet we trade with them like they're some western democracy. It's all about China being such an enormous market for our goods.

th point - N. Korea does have a history of selling weapons to other regimes. What makes us think they won't sell nuclear weapons or technology to anyone willing to pony up the cash? They need cash badly. N. Korea is a bigger concern than Saddam at this point.

th Point - Good point. But, is Saddam the only way they're going to get those weapons? Yes, we should put pressure on Saddam and we are. But, is invading Iraq really the answer? I think it might inflame more hatered towards the U.S. and cause more terrorist attacks.

What we really need to do is get ourselves off Middle Eastern oil. That would be a good place to start securing our country. But, not likely to happen any time soon. :-(
