The real answer to the guy's question as to how this recession is different from all the others is that we're not in a recession, we're in a period of extremely low growth but that is not a recession according to any known definition.

Actual annualized GDP growth stood at a meager 0.7 percent last quarter, though analysts expect that to be revised up slightly to 1.0 percent when the second estimate of the figures is released later this week.
