When I speak of locking I mean more in terms of people who are in variables. In most cases a variable rate mortgage can be locked for a few hundred dollars. Since I'm not a rates expert I have no idea when the low will come so people could be wasting a few hundred bucks if they decide to lock and we see rates go lower and stay lower. Personally I think its a good conservative decision though and like I said....you can always refi if rates go even lower.
