Even if you assume a 75% loss on 30% of the entire equity allocation, with 50% in fixed income the total loss comes to 11.25%. Obviously a blow, but far different from what some people have been representing as ruining their retirement. If Brinker was questioning her truthfulness about her own situation, I don't think she should do that, but there is still a lie in what she said, and that consists of representing that the size of her losses was due to what he recommended, when in fact the majority of it is due to deviating from what he recommended. I'm surprised that you say there is a large market for David's services. Do you think his subscribers add up to even 1% of Brinker's listeners?
