Bush will record $500b of deficit this year. Fiscal responsibility indeed.

"Fiscal Responsibility" doesn't mean that you don't ever have deficits. What it means is that you don't waste money.

There is certainly nothing wrong with deficits, particularly when the money is being spent on self-defense.

Would you borrow money to defend your family? I certainly would.
