My anger is not misdirected because I'm angry with the French...hell, I have enough anger for those others also. However, we can safely bet the French won't hold a position on the security council much longer. When that occurs we won't be talking about them here the same as we're not talking about Saudi Arabia or Germany.

btw what party is the leader of France in....

Yes, but not for the reasons you believe. The dynamics have changed. The UN was once a buffer where east met west. Now, there is but one superpower, and the UN has become a soapbox the non-superpowers to speak to the rest of the world and attempt to influence US policy. All the US has to do is cut off financial support, and the soapbox will crumble under their feet. The only useful purpose for the UN going forward is their humanitarian programs, which are generally successful and badly needed.
