Well, it looks like your wife at least ended up somewhere comfy when she got stranded. I wouldn't try to brave it on the roads down there knowing that most folks have very little experience with ice/snow conditions & there is almost no snow removal equipment to be found. Probably best to let mother nature clear things up even if it means sitting tight for a few days there.

I've stayed at Hampton Inn, but not in their suites. I have seen them though. They are right up there, but a bit harder to obtain due to limited numbers of rooms.

TownPlace Suites is a less expensive version of Residence Inn, Embassy & Hampton, but it is also not quite as plush. Not bad when you have a group that wants to hang out together for a night or two & not break the bank.
