What Bushies fails to tell us is how much Iraq COSTS us. Not just the cost of the war, about 200 billion, but higher oil prices, lost alliances, degraded war on terror, plummeting stock markets, malaise and divisive infighting and giving the US a worse reputation around the world. The Bushies like to say how bold and principaled Bush is by refusing to change his tune and talking tough. But since Bush has never proven Iraq is a threat to anyone right now, his eagerness for war has been understood as wrong-minded by most of the people on this planet. Defending America? I don't think so. Maybe about oil and politics, but those are the only reasons which really make sense. There are many other sources of WMD that Bush isn't going after. And this war drains us in so many ways. We've even got the Bushies calling for boycotts against our traditional allies now. And Tony Blair is not going to get re-elected. What a mess.
