W. Re: “I guess that GSM/GPRS isn't toast after all?”. Dr. I. J. doesn’t think so as he stated at the AM it should be around for another decade. That’s why I feel the dual mode handsets Qualcomm is supporting with the MSM 6300 (etc) are a very significant effort for Qualcomm that will bridge the gap until (if) WCDMA takes off.

Qualcomm appears to have a time to market lead in this endeavor. I’d be interested in your (and others) evaluation of TI’s (and Intel’s) competitive position vs Qualcomm in the dual mode market.
