I agree with your points.

I should have said "irrelevant to Jim's list of *dramatic* events". After all, aren't wireline companies frequently the wireless providers? Witness AT&T, Sprint, Cingular (SBC & BellSouth), Verizon (Pactel, Ameritech, etc.), KT Freetel, SK Telecom, Nippon T&T, ...
