I think in the case of bin Laden he is a true believer. He's not a cynical manipulator like Saddam. He reminds me of Oliver Cromwell.

Yes, they get power and women and all that stuff, but what really drives them is the spiritual rush they get from doing God's will. As they perceive it, of course.

You know that good feeling you get when you give money to a homeless person, or open the door for someone? Try multiplying that until it's almost orgasmic.
