consumer confidence is a coincident indicator (not leading)
so consumer spending will likely stink on ice in shorterm

Greenspam must be very worried about the economy now
his reputation is suffering from massive erosion
his legacy will be absolutely horrible

Consumer Confidence

A lot of discussion about CC being at 10 year lows, and as a contrarian indicator this should be bullish. As this long term chart shows

ttrader.com

at the end of a P/E compression plunge (Despair), as in '74, the value will be a lot lower (or "this time will be different"). Since, we are currently on our way to Despair, I would expect many new multi-year CC lows in our future.
