I will try and which a friend of mine suggested is diabling PC-cillin and see if this speeds up my machine

My machine came with PC-cillin and got terribly slow in a hurry. I got rid of it and started using McAfee a couple of years ago. World of difference. Perhaps it was just the way it came configured, but PC-cillin was a real load.

Someone else besides me probably knows a lot more about this, but I got a copy of Motherboard Monitor long ago, and run it now and then. It was easily configured by telling it which MB I have. It monitors fans, temperatures, and voltages, any of which could be causing problems. I've lost a couple of power supplies over the years. Reminds me I should go buy one to put on my shelf just in case.

Use the last one. It's for Windows Me and XP. Make sure you read the "Read Me" file that comes with the download before using it.
