exactly, you bet, agreed 100%
the UAW labor contract comes up this June, so I read

I expect a widespread nasty labor strike
which will alleviate some of the excess inventory

I expect 200,000 layoffs
which will have a huge effect on consumer spending

then in several months, some talk about nationalization
since the layoffs will only increase

as long as the car industry is mired in a situation where it is cheaper to sell a car at 0% down and 0% interest (even with some cashback), making a negligible profit...
than to lay off the 3.5 workers who build that single car, THIS INDUSTY IS GOING TO HELL

first from making no money, while servicing its debt
second from the cost of laying off workers
third from the deadly pension costs (income + health)

this car sector is destined for ruin
