There is something to that. However, there are other possible characteristics potentially skewing the results. Plenty of informed people are technophobes, for example, and technically oriented people often are not "socially attuned", which may distort their perceptions of political reality. Many internet polls do not have mechanisms to prevent over- voting, so it is possible for the more fanatical to skew results merely by doggedly entering their opinion. Also, it appears that people who want to "mouth off" gravitate to political chat sites. It is a little better here, since there is more room for sustained conversation, but those with a chat module rarely have time to develop a point, and must be satisfied with "sound bite" opinions. Thus, the sort of people who take internet polls may be skewed to the superficial, since most of them are located in conjunction with political chat modules..........
