I agree PT.
Saddam is in a box.
If we detect him doing things that threaten us
in a more immediate fashion, we can always take
that out from the air - without occupying the country.

Arab culture has everything to do with 9-11. The fact that there are no Democracies & that the goverments use anti-Americanism & militant Islam to control their people is a horrendous cycle.

My main argument for war is that a Democracy in the region can alter this cycle. I know this is not our motive. I know that we have not always supported Democracies in the past(Japan, S Korea, Taiwan, E. Timor being exceptions). I beleive 9-11 made even some hard right hawks(whose main intention is oil)beleive that A Democracy in the region will prevent another major attack.

I hate Bush & the Christian coalition. Read Friedman's editorial posted earlier. He hates Bush as well, but recognizes the power of Democracy. I still don't want to go alone & don't see why we have to go next month, but still support the war.
