History repeats itself AND unfortunately we know Bush hasn't really spent much time studying history...

IMO, if Bush takes us into an elective 'pre-emptive' war against Iraq WITHOUT broad support in the U.S. and from allies around the world then he will almost guarantee that he will be a 1-term president...Very few presidents that have taken us into a major war have ever been able to get re-elected again...Many have predicted that this potential war with Iraq could damage our fragile economy as well as our security (of course I didn't even mention how the U.S. prestige and credibility will be damaged further).

History repeats itself.

Now let me see if I've got this straight. First Bush labels (and chastises) Iraq, Iran and N. Korea as the Axis of Evil in his ’02 State of the Union message. Then in the late summer of ’02, with the economy in the toilet and no Bin Luddite to be found, he gears up the rhetoric about Iraq before the fall elections. After the elections, and a brief UN delay (cover?), he ratchets up the troops in the Middle East, in preparation for the final assault.

But wait N. Korea is not following the plan. First with its nukes, and then its missiles, it demonstrates that it is much more of a threat than Saddam. And now the third member of the axis is suing us?

for “delivering dangerous chemicals and deadly viruses to Baghdad”. Clearly these guys haven’t read the script. This is not supposed to be happening – no ad libs allowed.
