It is not an index or an option. It is a future, and unless you have a real-time trading system(w/the ability to trade futures) you may not be able to access the symbol. Check out IB ( www.interactivebrokers.com )

most regular brokers like Ameritrade, Etrade, etc. do not have futures. You have to get a futures account from a brokerage that offers it.

I know www.interactivebrokers.com will allow you to open up what they call a universal account which will let you trade anything from the same account (stocks, options, futures). I am unaware of any other brokers like this. Most trade either just stocks and options or just futures.
