The fact I disagree with shrub right now has more to do with the dire mess this country is in on the home front. I can't see the justification for spending billions on this right now. And now that shrub announced we are into nation building, it's going to cost us billions more. Why I don't see Hussein as a threat? He's a survivalist, not a suicidalist. He enjoys his wine, women, palaces, and who knows what else. Any use of the so-called wmd would lead to immediate demise.. so why do it? He has nothing to gain by their use. Now back a rat into a corner, and their apt to come out swinging. It's hard for me to not believe that a country can use whatever means it feels it needs to defend itself. Personally, I could care less if he has a missile that can go a few extra miles. It's no threat to me. North Korea developing long range nuclear weapons is a clear threat. Iran building reactors for weapons grade plutonium is a threat, allbeit not immediate. The scum running around this country on the streets IS an immediate threat to myself and family. On a positive war note, the sooner it gets going, the sooner the squeeze in oil prices will subside. I'm tired of paying the cartels.. p.s. ever notice the parallels between Reagan/Quadaffi and Shrub/Saddam? Same type of rhetoric, (quadaffi is a threat to the US, he's going to nuke us, he's going to use chemical/biological weapons, etc.. etc.. etc.. and you know what, the guy is still sitting in his little sandbox and we are still going on as a nation, with none of the doomsday b.s. ever coming to fruition.) p.s.s. Ever read a book called "With the Old Breed" ? If not, I highly recommend it. It's the best book I have ever read about combat. Written by EB Sledge about his experience at Peleliu and Okinawa in WW2. I sincerely hope no one ever has to experience what this man writes of ever again. And if that makes me anti-war, so be it.
