Re Unocal

Mohammad Alim Razim, minister for Mines and Industries told Reuters that US energy company Unocal was the "lead company" among those that would build the pipeline.

Let us not forget Hamid Karzai was the consultant to Unocal who negotiated with the Taliban for a pipeline through Afghanistan.

It feels like Unocal is choosing to be descrete until everything is signed and the project commences. I would be surprised if they did not decide to go ahead with it in the end... unless they have developed an allergy to making money in the past couple of years that passed between their proposal of the pipeline and its present initiation :-)
