I know, there was an explosion of new things to set up the 90s but as someone who worked at Oracle at the time I can tell you that nobody had really heard of most of these things while we were working on them. My family had never heard of Oracle, for example when I worked there.

What we have now in the software area is Java as a platform for cell phones and mobile devices, I think software for mobile devices look promising and high growth, don't know much about it though. There is bandwidth in the wifi area so some stuff IS happening, another year minimum of retrenching though (although investing in software is not too bad here)... again just hoping on my part that things pick up
