Yes, that is disingenuous, at best. AND they lose no opportunity to accuse the US of doing an oil grab. To hell with them. Kick them out of NATO (the French at least; there may be hope for rehabilitating the Germans) and tell the UN that France is either off the Security Council or we are out of the UN and the UN is off US soil. That is less clear to me. The French were among the leading screamers about the Balkans. Maybe that's different. That's their backyard. Why not con the US into cleaning up the mess if they can?
