Your talking to a guy who thinks we are going to explode so many devices over Baghdad that we are going to suck all the air out of the area and kill everyone including women and children. Not into critical thought but would rather just spew any anti American crap he can find anywhere on the internet. Try the ignore button, it works for me.

Not exactly.
I would have refused to go if drafted.
THE correct decision.
(Note: I applaud anyone who felt it was their duty to go, but I also applaud anyone with conviction for refusing to go as well, I damn morons like Westmoreland who escalated this madness)
Had public sentiment not shifted against that war it might have gone on 4 more years. Everyone should THANK the protesters for ending that madness sooner.
Protests and public sentiment forced that exit.

As for Pappa Bush, I was very very annoyed that he did not finish the job. This is not 20-20 hindsight vision either.

I stated at the time that
1) we would never get another mandate like that again with UN support
2) with Arab backing
3) with US citizen support
4) with world support

In short a major major F up.

My plan, stated publically at the time was to take out Hussein, hand him over to Kuwait (cleverly making the problem an Arab one NOT a US one), and letting the Arabs participate in naming a leader of Iraq (with US veto perhaps).

That would have solved the entire mess right then and there.
The whole thing would have been an Arab problem with an Arab solution, and Hussein would have been gone forever.
