Any real reporter, armed with the questions and evidence you just rattled off, would have journalistically crucified him. If Rather was too much the coward to give this assignment serious weight, he should have declined. The fact that he didn't mention any threat of force or offer an alibi as to why his questions were so soft in his introduction and voice-overs, reveals the poor PR stunt this was.

Hi OMD....Some REAL journalist should interview DAN, and ask DAN why he didn't ask some of those exact questions!!

Dan didn't ask him how many miles of underground tunnels and buildings he had dug in Iraq did he?
