We're going to get more terrorism if we don't too. Particularly if we don't at this point. Backing down now shows trhat Uncle Sam can be intimidated and bluffed. That gives the round to Saddam and OBL, makes them heroes, and encourages even more people to follow them. And going through with this could have just the opposite effect. Terrorists such as OBL, Hamas, Hezbollah, and Islamic Jihad need at least the tacit complicity of a national gov't to recruit and prepare for their terrorist acts. If those gov't leaders see that their very lives are at stake, they just might decide not to put up with it.
