Bush is for limiting malpractice claims to 250 K. Outrageous. Some careless doctor kills someone and it's worth only 250 K? Paralyzes you for life? 250 K wont cover much of anything. Your legal bill alone could be 250. Another example of special interests over the individual. A million or two maybe, but 250 is really heartless. Will encourage doctors to be less careful in certain cases. Tricky problem. But taking away peoples' rights to sue when they have a meritous case is not the answer. Frivolous lawsuits should of course be rejected ASAP and I'd be for making those people pay penalties for lying or wasting the court's time. Both legal and medical standards must be raised. That is the real answer.
