TOKYO, March 3 (Reuters) - Tokyo's Nikkei average was higher by the midsession break on Monday, buoyed by gains in exporters such as Toyota Motor Corp (Tokyo:7203.T - News) after a halt in the yen's rise.

But banks extended recent falls as their capital-raising plans have stoked concerns over share value, led by a 6.49 percent drop in Mitsubishi Tokyo Financial Group (Tokyo:8306.T - News), which is due to set terms on an ordinary share offer this week.
