Peace at any cost?? No blood for oil?? Rinse, and repeat.. I guess you totally ignored MY POINT of what, I opine, constitutes a peacenik... They are people who are willing to acknowledge that Saddam is a terrible man, but any plan by the US to oust him is far more evil... They are people who cannot provide any viable and peaceful method of accomplishing enforcement of UNSC resolution 678, and some 16 others through to 1441... They are the ones who decry continuing UN sanctions against Iraq, citing that millions of children are dying, yet when someone decides to oust Saddam so those sanctions CAN BE LIFTED, they decide that the status quo "ain't so bad"... They are the ones who have NO CONCEPT of human nature, because they have led sheltered lives where their very rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness have never been truly threatened or denied to them.. As for questioning my view about "dope-smoking hippies", maybe you should have been at the DC peace march like I was.. Quite a few of them there.. and many of them part of the communist and socialist parties (they handed out their flyers) that sponsored the event (ANSWER)...The enemy IS a different beast this time, and to revisit those days and compare the two is futile. Is it?? Looks the same to me... Totalitarianist evil, with delusions of imperialist grandeur if only able to obtain sufficient weapons to ensure their political survival.. The faces and ideologies may differ, but Totalitarianism is pretty much the same everywhere.. the Few treating themselves as a priviledged class within a society, denying or withholding inalienable rights to the subjugated masses within their country. Do you think WWII would have ended differently had Hitler nuked London, Moscow, or NYC?? I do.. And had he made some different military decisions, he might have been in that position to do so..OH! And if he does become a corpse…he wins….period. I just wish I could be the one to ensure his "victory" in death... (I have no hesitation about pulling the trigger myself, but would have to stand in a long line of those who also have the same desire).. And I hardly believe anyone will miss Saddam anymore than they have missed Hitler, Tojo, or Stalin... They lived, they terrorized, and they died.. And outside of a few hard-core morons, the majority of mankind never mourned their passing. Hawk Hawk
