Intel slips??

Before the Bell: Gap, Intel Slip

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Shares of Gap Inc. (NYSE:GPS - News) declined ahead of Friday's opening bell, a day after the clothing retailer said its February sales were short of its expectations.

Shares of Gap traded at $13.90 on Instinet, down from the prior day's close of $14.82 on the New York Stock Exchange (News - Websites). Gap said after Thursday's close that sales in stores open at least a year in February fell short of projections due to winter storms on the East Coast and low consumer confidence.

Intel Corp. (NasdaqNM:INTC - News) shares also edged down before the opening bell, to $16.95 on Instinet from its close on the Nasdaq of $16.70.

7:53AM Intel estimates raised at Lehman (INTC) 16.70: Dan Niles at Lehman believes that INTC will raise Q1 rev guidance to $6.7-$7.0 bln from $6.5-$7.0 bln based on overseas strength, better ASPs, mkt share gains, and lower than expected gross margin decline; raises Q1 est to $0.13 from $0.12, 2003 to $0.63 from $0.60, and 2004 to $0.82 from $0.80 (vs consensus ests of $0.12, $0.61, and $0.82, respectively). However, firm believes that Q2 revs may sequentially decline about 3%, vs consensus of flat, due to seasonality in Europe and a falloff in demand following the Chinese New Year and Japan's fiscal year.

7:46AM Integrated Device reaffirmed Q3 rev guidance on mid-qtr update, cuts 5% of workforce (IDTI) 7.55:

NVDA NVIDIA estimates trimmed at FBR on large design loss; target $11 (12.57) Friedman, Billings, Ramsey has learned that NVDA has lost a large design win at Micro-Star (one of its largest customers) to ATYT; firm now believes that other designs at Micro-Star are at risk, given that they had been an NVDA-exclusive customer; additionally, firm believes NVDA's new GeForce FX line will ramp more slowly than expected due to low yields on both discrete and board-level products; trims FY04 rev/EPS ests to $1.80 bln/$0.61 from $1.83 bln/$0.63 (consensus $1.82 bln/$0.59). Price target is $11.

Amazing what an upgrade can do for a stock. IDTI was up over 15% yesterday.
