PT, if you followed the evolution of Bush's posture towards the world, you will notice that he started out being an isolationist wanting to leave the world alone. However, the circumstances didn't let him do that. So, now the best course is the one he seems to have chosen - solve world problems that could affect us first and THEN withdraw.

I appreciate your right to disagree and fully support it as an American. That said, I cannot in good conscience allow Saddam to continue his quest towards long range WMD. He has used them on a local basis and there is nothing to suggest he wouldn't use them again. Furthermore he has killed millions of people over the years including his own. At what point do we say enough is enough? Would it be better to wait until he can kill a million of our people? Would the world be more well served by waiting for that? I don't think so. Given the option I think everyone would agree that its better to stop people like him before they can kill millions. Had FDR stepped in before Hitler acquired the ability to launch V2's the world may have seen far less death. As it turns out we damn near allowed a man to change the course of global history and I contend that we did anyhow. That said I do respect your right to loudly disagree with me.....you are an American and that is your right regardless of what others say. I respect Civil disobedience and think its important in the evolution of any good nation.
