Bill,
If i were a palestinian moderate, i would take the demotion of Bibi as a good sign. Sharon said yesterday that there would have to be compromises made for peace that wouldnt be popular. The deal he has with bush works both ways and Israel will have to take some risk ahead to achieve peace. Whats going on now is the crushing of the terrorist infrastructure in the West Bank and Gaza. Sharon is doing the job as much for the Palestinian moderates as for israel.
Post iraq there will be a clean slate. If the Syrians and Iranians take away the true meaning of the destruction of saddams state, they will quietly withdraw from the terror business. And the Saudis will do the same if they dont wish to have the US come knocking on their door. And on the ground things will change in Palestine. The new mideast is a little about democracy but more about reshaping the balance of power in order to once and for all solve the Israel-Palestine issue. Mike@newworldorder.com
