No argument (as I made clear in my original post) with the idea that monogamy can be a good thing... both for society at large, and for the family, and the individuals themselves.

I only pointed out that there was no genetic evidence for it being the 'genetic imperative' for humans, as was claimed... and considerable scientific evidence to support the view that we are are not 'genetically determined' for monogamy.
