ok... let's see...

Europe will become a stagnant but stable economic zone

I agree.

so where will growth be ?

The US, Euro Zone, Latin America, ME, Africa, Japan or South East Asia (incl. China) ?

I think the place to bet is SE Asia.

cigarette advertising will not dictate the EU future

Agreed... but the thrust of the cited article by el matador was more in focus to what is happening to motor sports...

I followed up by adding that it is a reflection of European way of doing business... which you seem to agree and adding the paternalistic (socialistic ) agenda they seem to be "stuck" with.

There is a potential nightmare in Euro land for businesses due to their love for regulation, socialism and... a difference in mentality as to how to approach things from the Northern Europeans as opposed to that of the Southern ones... once the rest of Europe i.e. the Eastern part and .... why not Turkey ... may help "open up" a bit the diversity may force them to consider better alternatives...

I think shit hits the fan when the Arab petrodollars demand gold for their oil
the indirect denomination now (since summer02) has been euros for oil
serious trouble comes to Europe when the flow toward EuroBonds is diverted toward gold more directly and openly

THIS IS THE ISLAMIC WORLD'S MOST POWERFUL FINANCIAL WEAPON
AND THEY WILL USE IT

I could not agree more....

the Dinar could become the vehicle just for that purpose...
and they are serious about it... starting mid 2003 they will....

For the most part, you and aI seem to be in agreemsnt...

and still that does not change the fact that the Future of Formula One will be mostly in Asia and Latin America... and that tobacco regulation will kill it in Europe... (as it has already done with the Belgian GP and the Austrian GP)
