There was an interesting discussion on the BBC last night. It concerned the democratic debate ongoing with the situation in Iraq. The issue being how out of touch the Spanish and British leaders are with their people and how this demonstrates a breakdown in democracy.

Another pundit dryly noted that if they were to act based on polls, most europeans would have their muslim and other refugee communities taken out and shot :-)
