That (exemption) went without saying.

FL,
And i thought there were 11 commandments. I am referring to the one Charleton Heston added "Thou shalt not not carry a hand gun." Mike

There are Two! <crash> One!...There is One Exception:
1. The moderator is exempt

Everyone else is limited to two (for now). See also the implied loophole above...

Thank you, very generous and much appreciated.

Paul

Just got to the listing of new rules. I was impressed with your Solomnic judgment qualities once again, particularly your rule about Scott. He does a great deal of work digging up those posts and most are things we all need to read.

Then I see the Solomnic qualities went south.

The problem is that if one reads this thread as a right-left posting battle and it certainly becomes that at times, the new rules will lead to a thread that is almost all news sources from the rightie side.

Suggestion. We stick with your latest rule of only 2 per poster, including scott. But should the strong rightie-leftie posting imbalance show up, you revisit the rule.

There's rumblings of mutiny!

Columbus: Really?

King: Come over here and listen.

Columbus: Alright.

Crew: Rumble, rumble, rumble. Mutiny, mutiny, mutiny.

Columbus: I see what you mean.

Dear Faultline,

I have been following this thread for a few months now and don't often post. However, I have enjoyed and profited intellectually from the diversity of opinion that you have facilitated. I also appreciate the academic footnoting with intelligent articles that are posted on the thread; irrespective of whether they are right or left leaning. While I more frequently lean to the left, I appreciate reading articles from both sides. Sometimes the loose, undisciplined and hostile posts get tedious and the articles rarely are. I haven't paid enough attention to who posts what so I guess I haven't suffered from Scott's work. If he is responsible for many of the artticles posted, I praise him. So count me on the side of not messing with the format except to encourage the posters not to be righteous and claiming one side to be more patriotic then the other. Best to all for your great energy in making this one of the best sites on the internet. Myron
