I don't care about a chart, my reality is that the midrange gas I buy is over $2.20/gallon and I don't remember paying that (ever, actually). Now I know what you are going to say- its a California tax issue, guess what that is probably true. But here is the issue - California *has to* raise taxes now because we are in a recession (or depression if you are in tech) and on our knees fiscally. And now, unlike in 2000, this is going to drive the country back into recession. This is the harsh reality. It doesn't matter whose fault it is - I keep hearing Bush people blaming local governors, and we have a real doozy here for sure, but the *fact* is that this is a recessionary climate, and Bush started a war with an arab country and now we have issues with the recovery. Thats about it.
