NC, I think they justified what they did by the targets they chose. Pentagon=command and control WTC=the capital of the american economy. They probably view it like we would military targeting. Now of course in the bin laden tape with the arab visitor, bin laden did exhibit a blood lust as well so they certainly were looking to maximize collateral damage. Times Square on NY eve would not fit the pattern of embassies, naval ships, pentagon and WTC. Do i put it past them. Certainly not but i do believe part of our success is that we identify the types of primary targets they are looking at based on the assumptions i made. Of course i am just guessing here and certainly the hotel attack in Bali was a departure but i write that off as a local cell. and the kenya-israel hotel in attack was a direct al quaida op but those were israelis. mike
