The war in 1991 did not deter AlQueda

The war in 1991 had nothing to do with Al Queda. The weak solution pushed by the UN is what has bolstered them. We need to fix it correctly this time.

Al's point is well taken.......the Iraqi war angered al Qaeda, not deterred it; instead it encouraged them to go after us. This war will not deter them either but rather it will infuriate them, much like throwing a stick at an Africanized beehive.

The war in 1991 had nothing to do with Al Queda.

The war in 1991 has a lot to do with AlQueda. The US parking a base in SA is a festering sore for BinLaden. He views the US as the only thing between him and his nemesis...the royals in Saudi Arabia. We are infidels in the holy land...the first war started it and the second war in Iraq will only embitter their resentment, along with bush's unwillingness to do anything to solve the Palestinian problem, which BL uses as a recruiting vehicle, wether or not this is a real cause for him, is immaterial. It works in his favor.

So here's a good one for those in the administration who lately have had to resort to advocating this war on the basis of the humanitarian conditions of the Iraqi people...what about the Palestinians? What about their humanitarian condition? We are willing to go to war to "liberate" the Iraqis...how about lifting even a finger solving the Palestinians's miserable situation? Now, if you really want to do something everyone agees will have long term benefit, not only for the Palestinians directly, but for robbing terror of a strong tool of presumed legitimacy, fix that problem. What is bush doing there? Zippo. Nada.
