Yes, well here is the definition according to MY online dictionary:

"Violation of allegiance toward one's country or sovereign, especially the betrayal of one's country by waging war against it or by consciously and purposely acting to aid its enemies. "

When a person provides support for the position of Saddam Hussain against our country, it is treason by this definition. And when it is done for political reasons, it is that much worse.
