Scary how much damage Bush has done to our alliances so quickly. But you could see it coming the first time he went to Europe in 2001. He took an arrogant "I'm doing what I want no matter what you think" tone with our allies on SDI and refusing to keep his promise on ratifying the Kyoto Treaty. Back home, he was all but defending the phony energy crisis and throwing out all things Clinton, including his counter-terrorism programs which might have stopped 9-11 from happening if they'd been kept operational with politics interfering. This Bush Doctrine plus 9-11 has led to the greatest economic collapse (percentage wise) since the Great Depression. And we probably haven't seen the worst yet. Still, Bushies and their mouth-pieces in the press cotinue to praise Bush for his masterful job. But what has he really "accomplished"? Malaise, division and economic hardship all over the place. And he has almost completely squandered the tremendous pro-US goodwill which came to us after 9-11, when even Arab leaders were offering to do everything they could to help us. What a shame. And what a travesty that the right-wing continues worshipping their leader. I say "their" leader because Bush represents only the right-wing. Not moderates, liberals or allies. He represents a narrow minority special interest doctrine. And that doctrine is bringing us down.
