You're right......I misread what you wrote. My apologies!

Unfortunately, most people who want to "declare peace" do so out of denial or cowardice than courage and convinction.

I may be wrong but I don't think Chirac and Schroeder are seeking peace out of denial, greed, politics or some other inappropriate reason. I would feel more comfortable if that were, in fact, true. I think their motivation is much more complicated than that.

And there is something to why people see Bush as evil; why people have been dismissed over that issue. I don't believe a person who causes such divisiveness among us and our allies can be a white knight...a hero. And I suspect the people behind him are people like Eagleberger.......a crusty old fart who lives and dies by the sword. He's had his day......he should stay done.
