Scott, Mixed feelings on that post. First, I don't like Moyers. I think he is a bit on his high horse for a guy who worked for LBJ. I served in LBJ's Army and in Tricky Dick's and don't trust anyone who worked directly for either of those guys.

But I also have a problem with all the flag decals. I also don't like leaving the real flags out in the rain and snow. Man, we used to take that thing in and fold it up, respectively, when the weather got lousy and at night.

I am old enough to remember when Abby Hoffman wore a flag shirt on tv and they blocked it out like they do the porno channel. Then Roy Rogers and Dale Evans wore exactly the same shirt and everyone applauded them. Crazy world when the flag comes into being.

Anyway, flags are cloth and on poles or sticks. They aren't made of paper and stuck on the bumper of some cheesy car.

I also don't like The Pledge of Allegiance. Mainly because I think it teaches children to blindly worship idols and symbols instead of ideas. Or The Star Spangled Banner at sporting events. Oh, yeah, let's celebrate our country by watching Mike Tyson flatten some schmuck. And Americans being coerced into standing up for a song is an extremely un-American thing.

Then, again, when I have less caffeine and more alcohol, I figure I can sing it better than Roseanne did and give it a loud go. <g>
