<<There is no evidence to prove that Iraq has the WDM>>

But he used WMD in a couple different conflicts (Iran and the Kurds)

I don't disagree with most of your points, but what I have said again & again still holds.

The cycle of Arab countries taking the $ we give them for oil, using it to enrich their dictatorships, fostering anti-Americanism, militant Islam in their schools as a method of keeping the pressure off their failed governments. THAT is the cycle that must stop. THAT is the cycle that caused 9-11 along with the poverty that these rich dictatorships foster.

WMD is baloney, I agree. Iraq poses no immediate threat to the US. Bush's main war aim is oil. However, Democracy will be a secondary aim. Paul Wolfowitz(whom I also dislike) is not a complete moron. He believes most of what he says. He lived in the Arab world for years. He does understand some of the complexities of the world. He is on the record pushing hard for a Democracy in Iraq. I know Wolfowitz to be an extremist but not a liar. Removing the cycle must stop. It is not going to stop through sanctions.

Bush's handling of this is horrendous & I would prefer to wait & foster more alliances & garner world opinion. I would like to see Afghanistan & Palestine cleaned up first. I know we basically agree here.

I will grant you that I am a dove with regards to timing & chronology, but my main purpose is to point out that Iraq needs to be dealt with at some point. There ARE just aims in this war. Doves should be willing to admit this rather than just hoping for Bush to fail. The Arab dictators all want to get rid of Saddam but are all secretly terrified of a Democracy taking root for they know this could be the end of their domination. This is JUST.

If the thread was: don't start the war NOW. Hey, I'd be with you. Don't start the war. Period: that I cannot agree with.
